How to use Honey for Acne and Acne Scars removal

Acne is a skin disease involving your sebaceous glands and hair follicles. It is due to excessive oil secretion and trapped dust with oil in your hair follicles that may become a thriving ground for bacteria. It thus involves inflammation of your skin shown as eruption of pimples on face, neck and sometimes even on back and chest. It may become infectious due to growth of bacteria and it also involves pain and irritation.
Honey is a natural antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory agent. It contains a lot of antioxidants, vitamins like vitamin B2, B3, and B5 as well as minerals. Not only it becomes antiseptic in nature due to its anti-bacterial properties but it also is a very good moisturizing agent. So, honey heals your acne with its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and at the same time, keeps your skin moisturized and glowing due to the excellent nutrients present in it.

Raw honey

The antibacterial and acidic properties of raw honey discourage bacteria growth. Regular application of raw honey lightens scar mark, provides an even tone and imparts brightness to skin. Clean your face to remove excess oil. Apply a thin layer of raw honey on your face like a face mask. Leave for at least 10 minutes. Wet hands with water and gently massage your face in circular motion with your fingertips. Wash face with cool water and pat dry with a soft towel.


Honey and Cinnamon

Mix equal quantities of fresh ground cinnamon powder and raw honey. Apply the mixture on affected area or as a face pack. Allow the mixture to dry and wash off. Cinnamon helps to get rid of acne causing bacteria.


Honey and Sugar Scrub

Mix a small amount of sugar and brown sugar. Apply the scrub to the affected area and gently massage for 3 – 4 minutes. Rinse with water. Repeat regularly for best results.


Honey and Turmeric

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and disinfectant which kills bacteria and soothes pain and redness. Mix a tablespoon of honey and 1/8 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Apply the paste to the affected area. Leave for 20 – 25 minutes and rinse with warm water. Apply moisturizer. Repeat regularly for best results.


Honey and Lemon

Lemon’s acidic nature helps reduce or remove acne scars and has great cleansing and nourishing properties. Mix a few drops of honey and lemon juice. Apply to acne scars. Leave until dry and rinse with water. Repeat regularly for best results.
