How to use Avocado for Hair

Avocados are a fruit whose many health benefits are becoming more widely known. One benefit avocados offer is preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. They can also be used to improve the condition of your hair by acting as a moisturizer for dry or damaged hair. Avocados were first used for this purpose by early Egyptians.

Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growing. Healthy hair grows half an inch every month. Using avocado in a conditioner or as a hair mask are the best ways to promote regular hair growth.

How to use Avocado for Hair

Things You'll Need

·       1 ripe avocado
·       Sharp knife
·       Small mixing bowl
·       Fork
·       1 tsp. olive oil
·       Shower cap
·       Warm, damp towel

Method :

Cut open the avocado lengthwise, and separate the two halves. Remove the seed from the center, and peel the fruit with a sharp kitchen knife. Place the avocado in a small mixing bowl, and mash lightly with the back of a fork. Add the olive oil, and stir until smooth and well combined. Massage the mixture into your scalp using circular motions with your fingertips. Continue working the avocado into your hair, all the way down to the tips. Put on a plastic shower cap, and then wrap your head in a warm, damp towel. The heat allows the oil and protein to penetrate the hair shaft and condition from the inside out. Allow the avocado to remain on your hair for at least 20 minutes. Remove the towel and shower cap, rinse well with warm water, and shampoo as usual to remove any oily residue.
