How to get straight hair naturally

Straight hair is known for its glossy and slick appearance, and as a result, it enhances the visual appeal of a person. Straight hair is popular with both men and women; however, not many people are blessed with naturally straight hair, and often turn to chemical treatments to get the desired result. The finished look and the immediate results of salon-

treated hair are the main reasons why people opt for the straightening treatment. These are some methods to get the kinks and curls out of hair, at home, using ingredients from your shelves.

 Hot Oil Treatments
Hot Oil Treatments are generally regarded ‘green’ hair care remedies.
As a deep conditioning treatment used to pamper and ‘cure’ damaged hair, these have also the ability to relax naturally curly or wavy hair. In fact it can act as straighteners do, providing the follicles with moisture.
Heat the oil in a bowl, first detangle your hair and apply it to your hair. Cover your head with a towel and leave it to take action for 15-30 minutes. Besides giving sleekness to your hair, it will also give back its natural healthy glow. Go on with this useful habit, repeating it once a week.

Coconut or Olive oil or Castor oil
Apply warm olive or coconut oil on the hair and scalp. Cover the hair with a warm towel and allow it to soak in for 30 minutes. Wash the hair and comb hair whilst wet. Repeat the process at least thrice a week. Castor oil is also helpful in straightening the hair.

Celery Leaves:

Chop a bunch of celery leaves and extract juice by blending and straining through a muslin cloth. Store this in a bottle overnight. Next day apply the juice to length of hair and scalp. Comb with a broad toothed comb so that all the hair is covered and leave it on for an hour. Rinse hair well. Blow dry gently, using a circular brush with natural bristles.

Milk :
A very popular technique is to mix ½ cup of water with ½ a cup of milk and pour this into a spray bottle. Comb out the tangles before starting. Spray this milk on hair and scalp. Comb again. Leave milk on for ½ hour before washing gently with water. Comb with a broad toothed comb. Repeat this technique 2 -3 times a week. Can blow dry with and brush for a finished look.

Fuller’s Earth :
Take a cup of "Fuller’s Earth" or “Multani Mitti” and mix 1 egg white and 2 spoons of rice flour to this. Add water to make a paste which should be runny enough to coat the hair but not flow at the same time. Leave for ½ hour and comb with a wide toothed comb. Repeat this 2 -3 times. Wash hair with water and a gentle shampoo after 2 hours.

Milk and Honey
These ingredients also act as natural hair straighteners that nourish and protect hair.

Add a teaspoon of honey to a cup of milk, them mash some strawberries and also mix it with the initial paste. Apply the creamy paste to your hair and leave it on for at least 2 hours. Wash it off with shampoo, and then detangle your strands with comb.

 Olive oil with Egg
Both are known to be the integral parts of hair care. But it is not known to many that olive oil and egg together can do wonders on your hair. Beat two eggs and add adequate amount of olive oil. Mix and apply to the hair. Wait for at least an hour and then wash with a mild shampoo. All these natural products are easily available around you. But you have to be patient. These will not work like a hair straightening treatment at a salon. You have to make a hair care regime and repeat any one of these straightening processes at least twice a week. Only then you can find a marked difference in your hair after a few months. If your hair is too curly and you want it to be straight, you have to visit a salon and expose your hair to the harmful chemicals, which done regularly will damage your hair.

Aloe Vera Gel Mask
Mix half cup of warm oil (olive, coconut, and castor) with half cup of aloe Vera gel. Mix in six drops of essential oil like rosemary and sandalwood. Massage the mixture into the hair and scalp and wash off after 1 to 2 hours.

Egg White and Rice Flour mask
Make a paste of one egg white, one cup of fuller’s earth, and five teaspoons of rice flour. Apply the mix on the hair and comb through. Leave the mask on the hair for one hour and wash off with a mild shampoo. Use this mask once a week for few months.

Coconut oil and lemon juice
Grate a coconut to extract the milk from it. Coconut milk has hair straightening permanently properties. But if you add lemon juice to it, it will give you better results. Refrigerate the mixture for a few hours. A creamy layer will be produced on the top of the mixture. Apply that cream to your hair and wrap it with a hot towel. Wait for at least one hour. Then, wash your hair with a mild shampoo and dry it completely. You will rediscover your hair with added softness. At the same time, your unruly curls will also become manageable.

Banana Mask

Make a paste of two mashed bananas and two tablespoons each of natural yogurt, honey, and olive oil. Add in one egg white. Apply the mask to the hair and cover with a shower cap. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes and wash off.
