Effective Home Remedies To Treat Rashes Under Breasts

Cold Compress

A cold compress can relieve many of the symptoms like itching and burning sensation caused by rashes under the breasts. Wrap some ice in a thin cotton towel and put it over the affected area for five to 10 minutes. Take a break and then repeat. Another option is to apply a skim-milk and cold-water compress using equal parts of both the ingredients to relieve itching and reduce swelling. Also, try bathing with cold water. It will help close the skin pores, thus reducing sweating and the appearance of the rash.


Cornstarch

Cornstarch is highly effective for alleviating the itching and burning sensations associated with a breast rash. It helps keep the skin dry. In case of a fungal rash though, simply use talc as fungi feed on cornstarch. Clean the affected skin with soap and water, and then pat dry with a towel. When the area is completely dry, lightly dust cornstarch over it. Do this at least twice daily until you completely get rid of the problem. Do not apply cornstarch on moist or wet skin as it will increase the risk of fungal infection.


Aloe Vera Gel

Remove aloe vera present inside the leaf by cutting it sideways. Apply this on the breast rash and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water. Repeat this 2-3 times a day. Aloe vera has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is extremely soothing for the irritated and inflamed skin. Freshly extracted aloe vera gel has a healing effect that alleviates the distress caused due to a breast rash.



Calamine Lotion

Calamine lotion can be used on a breast rash to provide soothing relief from itching and speed up the healing process. It will also helps keep the area dry and thus reduce the chance of infection. Clean the affected skin with a mild soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry the area with a towel. Use a cotton ball to gently apply the calamine lotion. Repeat several times a day.


Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has been proved to treat all types of skin rashes effectively. So whether your rash under breast is due to fungus, bacteria, or irritation, vinegar may help relieve it. It helps you cure the inflammation and also reduces irritation and itching promoting the area to heal faster. Dilute vinegar in water. Soak the cloth or cotton ball in this solution. Wipe the affected area with this. Repeat 2-3 times a day.


Oatmeal

Oatmeal is an effective natural treatment for a rash under the breast that has been caused by chafing. Oatmeal helps to reduce inflammation and cleanse the skin. The Journal of Drugs in Dermatology says that oatmeal can be used to cure rashes, dermatitis, and scaling skin. An oatmeal bath is a great home remedy for soothing itchy breast rash. Fill the bathtub with warm water and add 1 to 2 cups rolled oats. Mix the oatmeal in the bath with your hand and let it set for a few minutes. Soak in the bath for 20 minutes. While in the bath, gather together some of the oatmeal and gently press it to the rash under your breasts. Rinse off in the shower with warm water and pat your skin dry.
