Homemade face mask recipes for summer

Sandalwood Face mask

Sandalwood has great soothing properties and it also helps to get rid of blemishes and tans. Take some Sandalwood powder and make a thin paste with rose water. At bed time wash your faces with lukewarm water. Apply this paste on face and leave for overnight. Wash in the morning with lukewarm water.

Orange, Neem and Multani mitti face mask

Mix equal quantities of neem, orange, sandalwood and multani mitti (fullers’ earth) powder together. You can find them easily in any Ayurvedic store. I recommend blitzing them together in a mixer grinder to get an even mix. Store this in a jar for later use. Take a tsp or two of this and add a quarter tsp of honey and half a tsp of lemon juice. Lastly, add rose water to make a smooth paste. Apply this on your face and neck for 15-20 minutes and wash off with plain water even if it isn’t dry.

Rice Flour and honey face pack

Mix 3 teaspoons of rice flour, pinch turmeric, 1 teaspoon of honey and cucumber juice as required to make a smooth paste. This can also be made in larger quantities to get a body pack.

Egg Whites

Use only the whites of the eggs to remove your tan. Apply egg whites on the suntanned areas and let them dry. Wash off with cold water. Egg whites are great for cleaning your pores and eliminating toxins from your skin. They make your skin firm and lighten your skin tone, too.

Mint Leaves

Make a paste of mint (pudhina) leaves to remove suntan. Mint leaves have a calming effect on the skin and make your skin supple.

Tomato face mask

Tomatoes also do a whole lot of good to oily skin. Just mix some fresh tomato juice with 3 teaspoons of rice flour and 1 teaspoon of honey. Alternately, if you’re pressed for time, just rub half a tomato (flesh side) on your skin in a circular motion for 15 minutes.

Multani Mitti (fuller’s earth) face mask

ix together multani mitti and rose water and apply it on your face and neck. Lie down and place cotton pads soaked in rose water on your eyes.

How to remove Acne Scars

Acne scars can occur from bad breakouts of zits, pimples or moderate acne clusters. Most of the time, scars are formed because of added irritation to affected areas, such as picking or rubbing the acne formations. However, sometimes the acne can be inflamed to a more severe state, and scarring can develop regardless of added irritation. There are several medical and cosmetic procedures that can help get rid of acne scars, such as laser treatment, dermabrasion, tissue fillers and surgery and so on. However, most of these procedures are quite expensive and in most cases will not be covered by insurance.
