How to get Silky Shiny Hair Naturally

Gleaming hair is a sign of youth and vitality, so when a woman has lackluster hair—it ages her. Pollution, harsh chemicals, and heat styling can all turn hair dull, but a few extra steps will ensure your head shines. Soft and shiny hair takes a bit of effort; few people have these hair characteristics naturally beyond the toddler years.

Fortunately, it is possible to restore both softness and a shine to your hair using a range of treatments, many of which you will find the ingredients for in your own home. Even if you're on a tight budget, glossy, shiny hair is achievable with ease.

Coconut Oil Mask

Coconut oil is solid at room temperature, so it's easier to use (and less messy) than other oils. Starting with dry hair, (if hair is wet it won't hold onto the hair follicle), coat the hair with the oil from root to tip. Use a comb to brush the product through evenly. Finish by securing with a clip or a braid if hair is below the shoulders. Cover your pillow case with a towel. Shampoo the entire head to make sure all of the oil comes out. You may need a double shampoo, since coconut oil holds on strong. Because the oil also moisturizes, you can skip a conditioner and avoid weighing down the hair.

Beer Rinse

Beer adds B vitamins and natural proteins into the hair. These nutrients hold onto the hair shaft, strengthening the hair follicle and closing the cuticle (or outer layer of the hair). Hair is at its shiniest when the cuticle is closed.
Similar to the beer rinse, drench the hair with beer-our favorite is Guinness because of its thickness. Wrap your hair up into a tight bun and cover with a shower cap.
Shampoo and condition. Although the hair feels softer and shinier, it's also a little fluffy. A light conditioner will tame hair.

Yogurt Hair Mask

Brush out your hair well. Find plain yogurt, although plain Greek yogurt works very well also. Make sure the yogurt is plain. Next, take an old hair tie and put your hair into a ponytail or bun. If you wish you can put a bag over it or you can just leave it up. It is best to take a shower afterwards and shampoo/condition with a good brand.

Aloe Vera & Honey Mask

Aloe Vera is an excellent conditioning and rebuilding agent, and honey should add shine. People with dark hair should be careful while using honey as it may also lighten your hair color. Massage mixture through dry hair. Leave in hair for 5-10 minutes. Rinse out with shampoo and conditioner.

Avocado Mask

Similar to how avocado moisturizes the face, it also hydrates hair. Add in egg yolks, which are full of protein, and you've got shiny, strong hair. Blend 1 egg yolk and 1/2 avocado into a blender. Use your fingers to coat the hair from root to tip. Then twist your hair up into a tight bun and cover with a shower cap to protect the sheets. Shampoo and condition. The avocado doesn't weigh hair down like an oil.

Beauty Tips and Tricks for Shiny Silky Hair

·       Apply an oil such as olive oil or coconut oil and leave it in for about an hour before washing your hair. These moisturize the hair cuticle rather than just sitting on top of the hair strand like other oils.

·       Wash your hair at least twice a week. Washing it everyday will cause breakage.

·       Apply olive oil to the ends of your hair after you wash your hair. This nourishes your hair and gets rid of split ends!

·       Try different brands of conditioner and shampoo. Remember: Expensive doesn't always mean better. Ones without inorganic chemicals, alcohol, and artificial fragrances/color are best.

·       Condition! You can never do too much conditioning. When your hair no longer needs moisture it just won't suck any in!

·       Brush then braid your hair before you go to bed to prevent frizzy hair. If you take showers before to go to bed, it helps to keep hair from snarling.
