Golden Health Tips

In our daily busy life we do not have enough time to rest. The amount of time we dedicate to our professional life have also caused us to focus less on our health. It is high time that we become conscious about the fact that health and happiness go hand in hand. Many people do not care about their health and only try to focus on work. What is the point in making money when you are eventually going to spend it on treating your poor health?
Whether we are busy or lead a sedentary life, we can do certain things and avoid certain others in order to lead a healthy life. Here are some useful tips for good health that are suitable for all people.

Avoid Smoking and Drinking Alcohol

You may be smoking or drinking alcohol to overcome stress. However, in no time it can become an addiction. Even if you are trying to lead a healthy life, if you continue to smoke and drink, you will find it very difficult to improve your health.

Exercise

When you exercise regularly, you can burn the fats present in your body. It can also help in strengthening the immune system. It boosts energy and improves your mood. It promotes better sleep.

Keep hydrated

Hydration affects energy levels and is essential to your workout performance. Why? Proper hydration regulates body temperature and heart rate. In one hour of exercise, you could lose more than a quart (1 L) of water, depending on exercise intensity and air temperature. Without enough water for the body to cool itself through perspiration, you could become dehydrated—you’ll lose energy, and your muscles may cramp. For every 15 minutes of exercise, drink an extra cup of fluids. The harder your workout, the more fluids you’ll need. Hydrate afterward to replenish the body, ideally having another cup of water within 30 minutes.

Avoid Junk Foods

Junk food causes your body to gain weight. Since we do not have much time to have a healthy meal, we resort to eating fast food items like French fries, hotdogs, and burgers that can be eaten within few minutes. Such food items contain very less nutritional value. The oils present in it only raise the cholesterol level in your body. Hence, you should avoid eating junk food items.  You should also avoid eating canned foods as they contain high levels of preservatives and colors which are nothing but chemicals. They are added to the food to make it appear fresh.

Rest Your Body

The best way to stay healthy is to give good rest to your body. This can be done by sleeping for at least 6 to 8 hours daily. You can quickly refresh your senses by mastering the act of power nap during the day.
